Combinando diferentes fuentes tipográficas en un diseño

It is a safe rule not to mix different styles of letters on the same page, or different faces of type in the same book.

Eric Gill

Paradójico, ¿no? comenzar con una cita de Arthur Eric Rowton Gill (1882-1940), escultor y tipógrafo inglés autor de la famosa tipografía Gill Sans.

Matej Latin, autor del libro Better web typography for a better web (no lo tengo ni lo he leído) y de la lista de correo Web Typography Newsletter (estoy suscrito), escribió hace un tiempo un artículo A Guide to Combining Fonts.

Las recomendaciones, ampliadas en el artículo son las siguientes:

  • Find an anchor font for your main body text
  • Find a few secondary fonts for possible combinations
  • Evaluate the combination
  • Eliminate/choose fonts combination.
